A very passionate person and highly committed at community development and contribution to society standard of living, Prof. Dr. Rozainun Haji Abdul Aziz has over 30 years of experience participating in nation building and providing the best of education and support to raise the standard of living of individuals through formal and informal education programs. Her experience is with an academic institution, industry and community promoting the mindset of payment agility. She has over 30 years of working experience, teaching students of the Diploma, Degree, Master and Doctoral programs. She has held various academic appointments to manage academic programs, research and industry linkages throughout her service in UiTM. She networks with industry for various activities that gives benefit to the development of nation building. She is often invited as guest speaker, forum and conference panel in symposiums and international conferences, as well as roundtable meetings. She has teaching experience in financial and managerial accounting for the MBA program and Advanced Accounting for Senior Managers for the Doctoral in Business Administration (DBA) program at the Islamic International University of Malaysia. She is also invited as academic assessor for academic promotion and external examiner for PhD thesis in local universities.
She is currently a professor of management accounting at the Faculty of Accountancy, UiTM Selangor, Puncak Alam, Malaysia and has been awarded the most illustrious royalty award by the Sultan of Kelantan, PMK (Paduka Mahkota Kelantan) on 10 November 2015. She is also a Chartered Accountant of Malaysia, CA(M) and is a board member of Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), a development financial institution (DFI) under the Malaysian Central Bank and Ministry of Finance, Malaysia. In BSN, she sits on the Board Committees for Audit and Examination, Risk Management, Investment and Nomination & Remuneration. She is also on the board for Kingsley Edugroup Ltd., a GEMS Hong Kong Listed Company, where she also chairs the Audit & Risk Committee. She is the Chairman of UiTM-Salihin Teaching Accounting Firm (TAF) and the Vice-President for the Asean Accounting Education Workgroup, based in Universitas Padjajaran, Bandung, Indonesia. She is an external assessor for SunwayTES Centre of Accountancy Excellence, for accounting professional programs. She is an external moderator for Master in Economic Crime of HELP University, Kuala Lumpur. She is also the Honorary Treasurer for the University of Wales, Aberystwyth Alumni in Malaysia.
Rozainun is an alumni of UiTM, a graduate of Diploma in Accountancy (1981). She pursued for the CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK) qualification and completed the examinations successfully in 1985. She obtained her Master of Science (Econs) in Accounting and Finance from University of Wales, Aberystwyth (1995), with a dissertation titled ‘Linear Programming and Optimal Production for Business Strategy’. She also obtained her PhD degree from the University of Salford, United Kingdom (2004), theses titled ‘An Empirical and Analytical Study of Forecasting Practices and Perceptions in the United Kingdom’. Her areas of interest are management accounting, forensic accounting and risk management. She is now a Fellow member of CIMA and a CGMA, as well as a Fellow member of CPA (Australia). She is an Affiliate of AICB (Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers) and she is an ISACA Academic Associate Gold Member.
Recently at the International Conference on Social Sciences, Humanities and Technology (ICSHT 2019), she received Best Presenter Award for her presentation titled 'The Challenges and Strategies to employability for Graduates: A Bilinear Cost Function'. Rozainun is an author for a textbook on Management Accounting (3rd edition), in the final lap of Case Study writing, both under Oxford Publishers, and risk management textbook under Thomson Reuters. She has also been awarded the Education Leadership Award by CMO Asia Education in Singapore on 1st August 2018. Rozainun has also organised a talk on 'corruption and governance: the rise and fall' on 9 November 2018. Recently, she received a special award from the Dean of the Faculty for her leadership and contribution to Faculty's winning the Overall Champion of the UiTM's Vice-Chancellor's Award 2018 in the category of Students Development and Management, the performance of which was taken during her deanship tenure, assessed for 2015-2017.
